A direct response commercial is an advertisement on television that attempts to sell a product directly to the consumer by compelling them to pick up the telephone and call and order a product or service and have it shipped directly to their home. This is unlike traditional television advertising that communicates the information about a product which the consumer will go to a retail outlet and buy. If it sells well in this manner, you will want to create multiple streams of income, such as by creating a website and placing that on the spot to drive consumers to purchase the item from there. Once a brand name is known, if we are able to place the item in retail outlets, they can also place those on a commercial, and create another income stream that way. An example of this would be Bob's Car Cleaning Kit. Bob hires a production company to create a direct response commercial for his car cleaning kit, and it generates a very good response with consumers. He then hires the production company to create a website, and on his spot he lists a graphic that says, This Product Also Available at www.Bobscarcleaningkit.com. His sales do so well, and his direct brand name is so widely recognizable at this time that he decides to place his product in retail outlets. At the end of his spot, he lists a graphic that says, This Product Also Available at Auto Stores Nationwide, Pharmex Drugstores and Wilson's Super Foodstores. In this way, one can best leverage the marketing dollars from just one direct response commercial. Instead of just having the one income stream from the sales places directly off the television ad, they will also generate sales from a website and the retail outlets. After we have created the initial spot, we can always have a production company make the necessary changes to accommodate this. Or perhaps he modify the product in some way, or would like to offer your product or service at a different price. You can have the spot altered to reflect those changes as well. By testing the market with different offers it can find out what offer a product sells at best. A direct response commercial is a great way to initially create sales for your product, and to create recognition for the brand name.
